Obsolete White Ensign 1606-1801 fully sewn using medium weight 100% natural linen cloth

Our special range of linen made British White Ensigns are sewn to the highest quality to represent the state of art in flag crafting. Hand made using finest medium weight 100 % natural woven linen (180 g/sqm) they recall the medieval and modern era times when linen was the most widespread fabric, especially for maritime flags. Flags made of linen (flax) are looking so fine they can be used solely for decoration to embellish even the most luxurious interiors.

All pre 1801 White Ensigns are finished with sturdy natural grey or bleached white colour flax heading for intense outdoor use. Because of natural linen fabric strength, stitched UK flags can be safely used in open and windy environments in dry and windy conditions. Nevertheless, natural linen cloth absorbs moisture well, hence the combination for wet and stormy weather would deteriorate the flag fast.

Please pay special attention when washing the flag: do not machine wash; do not tumble dry or rinse;  hand wash in warm soapy water and hang it to dry by itself, afterwards iron the flag straight on (middle to high temperature with steam)
