The badge is carefully sewn onto the ensign closely following the contour and is cut around and from the back to reveal arms on both sides. The dye-sublimation printing is renown for bright colours and up to 98% bleed on the rear side. The best thing is with dye-sublimation badges are printed onto the same wool like MoD approved base fabric the ensigns are made from. This way the ensign looks unified and traditionally looking which would not be the case if badge was printed using synthetic shiny nylon like fabric.

Commonwealth ensigns are available on pre-order basis in various standard and custom sizes from 1 yard up to 4 yards. Manufacture usually takes 1 week and the finished flag is delivered in 2 weeks within the UK; international deliveries usually take 3 weeks but can be carried out faster via express courier service for extra charge.

Traditionally sewn MoD approved flags surpass fully printed flags for their aesthetic appearance and higher resistance to UV fading. Factory dyed coloured flag fabrics contain higher amount of dye pigment compared to after market printed flags that are made using white flag fabric and industrial printers
